Rishel Angus is owned by Bill and Barb Rishel and is located 10 miles south of North Platte, Nebraska.

Rishel Angus has been an ongoing purebred Angus operation since the purchase of our first registered Angus female in 1966. We have kept performance records on our herd since its inception and have identified outstanding cows and cow families and perpetuated them.

Barb and Bill Rishel

We were one of the first breeders to make a commitment to identify the carcass merit of our cattle because we believe that the real focus of our program should be the acceptance of our end product by the consumer. Because of this effort, many of the leading individuals for carcass merit in the Angus breed carry the Rishel Angus, B/R, prefix.

Many key decisions have been made since the beginning of our program, but perhaps none more important than the purchase of a bull calf in 1981 for $10,000. The bull calf was AAR New Trend and with this superior individual we founded the "New Trend" line of Angus cattle. Today, several cattle generations later, Rishel Angus is recognized around the world as the home of the "New Design" cattle including B/R New Design 036, B/R New Design 323, B/R New Frontier 095, B/R Destination 727-928, B/R New Dimension 7127, B/R New Design 323-9150, B/R New Design 323-8212, and B/R Recovery 980. Outstanding cow families like the Ruby of Tiffany, Blackcap Empress, Young Lucy, Kildonan Erica, Lady Ida, Blackbird, Primrose, Eisa Trojan Erica, Enchantress Trojan Erica and Lantz Blackcap along with superior sires have been and will continue to be the source of our program.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us by mail, phone, fax, or e-mail if you have questions about our cattle.
